March 2008: First Solo Photo Shoot

Well I had an opportunity to go on my first solo photo shoot a few weeks ago and IT WAS A BLAST! My friend Cheryl, who's photography you have seen if you ever came over to my house http://cherylsclassicphotos.com/, asked me to help her out and take one of her photo shoots. I was very nervous but excited. It was a very challenging shoot - for Swell DJ Productions at a high school formal. Most of the photos needed to be taken with existing light in a dark dance environment. It ended up being difficult but I had a blast - what a fun environment to be in - one of my favorites - high school dances with my kind of dance music - Hip Hop and R&B. I was there for a good 2-3 hours and beside the fact that I lost my cell phone for awhile - a high school student actually turned it in - Thank you Heavenly Father- I enjoyed every minute. I have so much to learn about photography but I love it.

I was also happy to see my photos on the DJ's website. Check them out at:

Mine are the first 3 rows. Here a couple of my faves:

I hope to have many more photo shoots in the future.

March 2008: Savannah Grace Ferguson

Announcing the arrival of

Savannah Grace Ferguson

to proud Mommy and Daddy, Vanessa and Josh, and big brother, Jackson.

Savannah arrived on March 6, 2008 at 8:12 pm and weighed 8 lb. 5 oz. and was 20 1/2 in.
Mommy and baby are happy and doing fine although a C-section was necessary.
They will probably be coming home Sunday or Monday from the hospital.

It is amazing going back to the hospital to witness someone else holding their baby for the first time. For myself, holding your new baby is one of life's greatest joys, but I don't think I realized just how beautiful it is until I watched my sister as she was able to hold little Savannah for the first time. The whole birthing process is very overwhelming and so maybe in the mix of that I was never quite able to realize just how precious those moments are. As I watched, I could feel my heart remembering those feelings with Owen, Eyan, and Tate. Really we are so privileged as women to have been given the ability to bare and raise children! I know I need to remember that more often:-)

March 2008: My beautiful pregnant sister

My little sister Vanessa is seriously the most photogenic person ever. Here she is 9 months pregnant looking fabulous. We through her a shower at Mom's house and then Vanessa and I had a little photo shoot after - yes, these pictures were taken after a long morning and she stills looks fresh!

March 2008: Catching up with February

Well life has been passing by fast this past month, joyous and full. Lots of playing in the backyard -Owen created a pirate ship with a functioning anchor, I couldn't believe his contraption-, Disneyland for Grandma's birthday, a visit from Grammy and Grandpa, and lots of rough housing inside!

March 2008: New ETSY Store

For those of you who don't know about Etsy.com, I have some bad news for you -- you will soon become an addict. It is a goldmine for all things handmade. I was recently introduced to this from a friend who told me that my aprons would be perfect to list on Etsy.com. So I took her advice. Check out my NEW ETSY STORE at

http://www.polkadotsquare.etsy.com/.

Enjoy! And happy shopping!

I'm playing around with some new colors and design for my label and brochure, not sure about it yet. I love the simplicity and stark contrast of black and white with a hint of color, but it might not be the best suited for my fun aprons. Would be interested in any feedback.
